A leadership-appointed, time-limited body — not a committee — created by Speaker Mike Johnson and Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries in February 2024 and co-chaired by Jay Obernolte (R-CA) and Ted Lieu (D-CA). It produced a comprehensive final report in December 2024 that remains the House's closest thing to a shared AI framework, organized by sector rather than by committee.
