VERIFIED: Blackburn is lead sponsor of S.1748 Kids Online Safety Act, advanced by the full committee 5 Aug 2026 alongside three AI-specific children's bills (S.4199, S.4407, S.5171). May 2026: Blackburn and Blumenthal announced OpenAI's endorsement of KOSA ahead of a Senate hearing on social-media verdicts. Blackburn simultaneously chairs Senate Judiciary's Privacy, Technology and the Law subcommittee, so consumer-AI and civil-liberties-AI work runs through the same senator in both committees.
