Military AI and, through the NDAA, the one must-pass annual vehicle that reliably carries AI policy. Send here: autonomous weapons, AI in nuclear command and control, DoD AI adoption and the Chief Digital and AI Office, DARPA, military AI testing and evaluation, AI-enabled cyber operations, and DoD compute and data-center buildout. Also covers the nuclear weapons parts of the Department of Energy.

Travaux en cours

VERIFIED: the FY2026 NDAA carried a substantial set of AI and cyber provisions (see CRS In Focus IF13197, 'Cyber and Artificial Intelligence Provisions in the FY2026 National Defense Authorization Act'), and House and Senate AI provisions went to conference in late 2025. The Senate NDAA process has also been the vehicle for tightening AI chip export controls. FY2027 NDAA work ran through 2026.
