Scrutinises METI, which owns AI industrial policy, the AI Guidelines for Business (jointly with MIC), semiconductor and compute policy, and — new in 2026 — a dedicated AI Industry Strategy Division (AI産業戦略課). This is the committee for the industrial/economic side of AI rather than the governance framework side.
