Originating chamber for PL 2338/2023. The CTIA analysed the bill and produced the favourable opinion that the Senate plenary adopted. Its work is done; the Senate regains jurisdiction only if the Chamber amends the text, in which case it returns for a final Senate vote.

The Senate consultation tools are genuinely easy — free registration, click to support or oppose, leave a comment, no gatekeeping. But for AI specifically this is now a dead channel: the bill left the Senate in March 2025. Included here so the seat is correctly identified as historical rather than current. Re-engage with the Senate only when the Chamber returns an amended text.

Travaux en cours

CONCLUDED IN THE SENATE. Approved by the Senate plenary on 10 December 2024 (Parecer nº 207/2024-PLEN/SF) and remitted to the Chamber of Deputies on 17 March 2025. Anyone targeting the Senate for AI regulation in 2026 is targeting the wrong chamber — the action is in the Chamber's special committee. The Senate's remaining role is the final revision vote if the Chamber changes the text, which it certainly will given 37 appended bills.

Senate e-Cidadania: 'Consulta Pública' allows any registered user to vote for or against, and comment on, any bill under consideration in the Senate; 'Audiências Interativas' allow live questions to hearing witnesses. Both remain available for any Senate matter.
